Trust Department

The Terre Haute Savings Bank offers a full array of fiduciary services. Whether it is serving as the Executor of your estate to maintaining records and assisting you with your investments, we stand ready to offer whatever assistance you require.

You will never make a more personal decision than the one you make in deciding who will settle your affairs after your death. We will make sure that your affairs are settled in the most professional, business-like manner. Our many years of successfully dealing with the settling of estates is your assurance that everyone will be treated impartially.

If you should become incapacitated and a need arises to have a guardian appointed for you in order to manage your financial affairs, the Terre Haute Savings Bank can assist you. Your incapacitation may only be temporary and the guardianship can close and your assets returned to your full control.

Perhaps your estate plan will require the need for a trust. A trust is an arrangement whereby the creator (settlor or grantor) of the trust transfers property to another who then manages the property for the benefit of the trust beneficiaries. A trust is a separate entity that can continue to operate after the settlor's death. A trust can avoid the need for court-appointed guardianship proceedings over your assets if you become incapacitated. Probate administration can be avoided for the assets held in a trust. Your estate plan remains confidential because trust agreements are not filed with the court or made public.

If you are inexperienced with making investments or need help paying your bills, the Terre Haute Savings Bank can serve as your agent. An agency relationship is very similar to a power of attorney in that you are authorizing the bank to act in your behalf.
